Music for a Summer Evening in Mallorca
The English soprano, Fiona Stuart-Wilson, and the Austrian mezzo soprano Waltraud Mucher accompanied by pianist Suzanne Bradbury will be presenting the concert “Music for a Summer Evening” on Monday August 4th at 9pm at the Deià International Music Festival in the magical setting of the Archduke’s palace of Son Marroig on the coast near Deià, Mallorca.
This is the fourth year that the trio has performed at the Festival and their concerts always attract a capacity audience. This year will be even more special as the concert will be presented on the birthday of the Archduke Luis Salvador as the first in a series of events to celebrate the 100 year anniversary of his death in 1915.
In an entertaining programme reflecting the interest of the Archduke in nature and the sea they will be performing solos and duets by Schumann, Dvorak, Widor, Viardot and Ravel as well as popular favourites by Offenbach, Debussy, Elgar and Tosti.
