‘El Tren de Soller’ is the title of the FIRST EVER MUSICAL ABOUT MAJORCA for a global audience.

The Isla Theatre Project may only be a year old but it already ‘cutting edge’. The world premiere of ‘El Tren de Soller’ will be on 7th August 2014 at the Sala Augusta in Palma and is expected to run for EIGHT weeks.

This is a full on professional musical written and performed about Majorca. The cast are bi or tri lingual and of the eight performances per week , three will be in English, three in German and two in Spanish.

The musical is about a German girl, a Majorcan boy with a guitar, a cast of local and international characters and a ride on a historic train. It is a light romantic comedy about the boy and girl who actually meet first in Greece and then she decides to follow him to Majorca.
When she arrives in Plaza de Espana all she has is a surname and a phone number. This gives her the Soller connection and she is off on the train to find him. Along the way she meets the cast of local characters that add to the story and create the music.

El Tren de Soller has been written by the Emmy nominated German composer Klaus Hillebrecht who has lived in Majorca since 2003. His ambition was to create a fun musical, fast and entertaining with the charm of never taking itself too seriously.
