For 2023, the Palma Christmas light switch-on will be held on Thursday 23 November. This will coincide with the Black Friday Sales starting in Mallorca on the following day.
Christmas Markets 2023
Plaza Mayor, Plaza Mercat, La Rambla and the Park of the Stations (moved this year from Placa Espana). These will be open from the end of November into January 2024. These are the Palma Christmas Markets.
You will also find great Christmas markets in Port Adriano and Portals Nous.
Nativity Scenes in Mallorca
If you are visiting Mallorca at Christmas, check out the nativity scenes or “belens” (Bethlehems) which are on display in the Town Halls, Churches and many local house Entradas, in all towns and villages in Mallorca. Building nativity scenes or “belens”, is the reproduction with figures, of the Christmas narrative according to the Gospel. The nativity scene is a very popular set of removable figures to decorate houses and churches in December and January. Many of the figures have been in families for generations and are a very important part of the celebrations.

Every Town and many villages will have their own plans for Christmas Lights Switch on and a programme of events. In Soller this all starts around 10th December 2023. Programme yet to be published.
