Figures published this week state that 36.5% of properties in Mallorca are owned by foreigners.
ABC Mallorca, in one of their articles have lifted the lid on the developments planned for the Port of Soller
They say ‘In the natural harbour of Puerto de Sóller, apartments used to be quite affordable until recently. The plan to build a tunnel below the road alongside the harbour and develop it into a promenade have caused prices to rise already. The few properties that still remain for sale will undoubtedly increase further upon completion of this waterfront project, These facts make the Puerto de Soller very interesting for potential investors.’

1 Open a tunnel through the mountain between Soller and Palma – completed.
2 Open a ‘lorry bearing’ tunnel between the Port and Soller capable of taking traffic away from the seafront – completed.
3 Develop the Harbour of the Port of Soller using the underground network of tunnels already in existence from its military days to create a connecting road to the tunnel – under consideration.
4 Complete the 50 year old plan to link the Port of Soller by passenger and freight ships to mainland Spain and France and recreate the shipping routes of the Port of Soller’s past. – story denied currently …
